In Memory

Michael Turner

Michael Turner

Michael A. Turner passed away peacefully at his home in Kennewick on May 1, 2013, following an extended battle with cancer. He was born in Brainerd, Minnesota in 1946, the second of six children born to Phyllis and Gerald Turner. He grew up in Spokane Washington before moving to Pasco when he was twelve, and lived in the TriCity area all of his adult life.

Michael graduated from Pasco High School, and began to work, first for the Northern Pacific Railroad and then for Boise Cascade paper mill. He retired from the mill in 2005. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed many hunting and river rafting trips until poor health forced him to slow down.

He had been married twice and is survived by his five brothers and sisters; his mother, Phyllis; and his three children, Kathryn Turner of West Richland, Michael Turner of Kennewick, and Zachary Turner of Pasco, Washington.

He requested a private family pot-luck gathering for a memorial service, which will be held on May 19, 2013. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution in Michael's memory to Tri-City Chaplaincy Hospice Center, who provided such excellent care in his final months.
