Bill Lowell Allen's Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on July 19, 2023, at Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, the same city as his birth in 1946. (Bill) William Lowell Allen Jr. graduated from Pasco High School and studied business at Eastern Washington State College where he and his wife of 54+ years, Melody, met.

Bill's energetic and tireless work ethic took him to several states while employed by Heinz Company and allowed him to enjoy many friendships as he served as manager for grocery stores throughout central Washington. He especially loved the crews who worked at Benton City Thriftway and Sunnyside's Price Chopper. They became "extended families" to him. Before retiring, Bill also served as a chemical nuclear operator at Hanford. He served as the volunteer Assistant Fire Chief and as an EMT for the Benton City Fire Department.

Hunting and fishing throughout Washington, playing Pinochle and other card games, many hours spent golfing (along with teasing those he cared about) ... added exercise, fellowship and fun to his life and the lives of others!

Bill is survived and already dearly missed by his wife, Melody Allen, and their sons (Trey) William Lowell Allen III (wife Laura) and Lance Lewis Allen (wife Jodi). His precious grandchildren are Luke, Aidan, Jack, Julia and Hudson. He is also survived by brothers Douglas Allen (Terri); Jay Allen (Karla); Jeffrey Allen (Laurie).

Viewing and Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA with burial to follow at the Outlook Cemetery.
