Marsha J. Nelson Granato passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in a nursing home in Beaverton, Oregon. She is survived by two sons, Clint and Paul Christian.

On a personal note, I have fond memories of Marsha. She was a gifted mezzo soproano. I especially remember her singing "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story at an all-school assembly. And, indeed, she did look pretty. But what struck me about her performance was how focused and courageous she was to have chosen that particular song. After all, teenagers can be quick to mock. But Marsha did not waver; she sang the song with total commitment. I never forgot the quality of her strength and self-confidence.  --Allen Johnson
