In Memory

Linda J Casper (Robinson)

Linda J Casper (Robinson)

We miss our classmate Linda Casper Robinson. Her husband of 30 years described Linda as “a sweet, caring, giving person, who would do anything for anyone, anytime.”

Linda was born to a large family. With his, hers, and theirs, there were 14 siblings in all.

Linda married the love of her life, William Fred Robinson in 1972. She met Fred in Provo, Utah. Linda was taking classes at Brigham Young University. One day, she sped off the freeway into the first gas station in sight, the RPM’s on her little Nissan sedan at full throttle. Fred was the mechanic on duty, and so began their romance. Linda would say of her husband, “Fred is better to me than anyone I have ever known.”

In 1983 Linda and Fred moved to Lake Powell, a beautiful but isolated location (to go shopping they had to drive 170 miles). They loved fishing. Every year they would take a house boat on the lake for a week and fish and explore the beauty of the inlets with their closest friends.

In February of 2004, Linda succumbed to cancer. Fred believes that the disease was contracted when Linda worked as a purchasing agent and secretary at Hanford for three years. She is survived by her loving husband, Fred, and her son, Kale C Robinson, who is in the US Coast Guard.

Fred said in a 2010 interview, “I still miss her a lot.” Pasco high school class of 1964 knows the feeling: we miss her too.

The following death notice was sent to our class by Linda's widower, Fred Robinson.

Linda June Robinson, age 58 of Lake Powell, Utah, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2004 in Provo, Utah. She was born February 9, 1946 in Richfield, Idaho to Lawrence Mirl and Myra Charlotte Shafer Casper. She married William Frederick Robinson on January 29, 1972 in Kennewick, Washington.

Linda loved living at Lake Powell for the boating and fishing. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend and loved spending time with family.
